Description:
The Open Air Gampel started back in 1986 as a small local event with Swiss bands only. Already a year later, the attendance had grown from 500 in the first edition to 4000 music fans. Since the early nineties, Gampel belongs to the main open-air events in Switzerland. It used to have a capacity of 33,000 people per day, before the number was reduced to 25,000 in 2021. The festival site is located in the beautiful Rhone valley surrounded by the Alps, which gives the festival a unique setting and atmosphere.
Besides the two main stages, Gampel offers a festival site with different attractions with fun fair, a flea market and market stalls with international and traditional Swiss food and beverages. Gampel is a 4-day festival and known for its wide selection of different party zones and free camping zone.
