Description:
In 2019, Pinkpop celebrated its 50th anniversary, honouring the first Pinkpop Festival ever in 1970 and all its years after. Until the 2020 edition had to be cancelled due to the corona pandemic, this track-record hade made the festival the longest running uninterrupted annual open air Pop Festival in Europe according to the Guinness Book of Records.
The famous festival has since 1988 been held on the festival site of MEGALAND in Landgraaf. Since its first edition, Pinkpop has been visited by more than 2.7 million unique visitors in its 50 editions and has sold-out for 28 times. The music is performed on five different stages at the site, that also includes loads of food markets, a festival market and some secret relaxing areas.
Pinkpop Festival represents a wide range of contemporary music and its visitors are widely spread over various generations. The festival has an extensive collaboration with several national media channels and is being broadcasted live on national TV and radio.
