The festival is held on the site of the city’s former metallurgical works, mines and ironworks, a European Cultural Heritage Site and unlike any other concert venue. In 2017 and 2015, the festival made it to the Best Major Festivals shortlist within the European Festival Awards. In 2016, the Guardian rated the festival as one of the 10 best festivals in Europe. Spread over two dozen unique outdoor and indoor stages, Colours of Ostrava offers an unrivaled selection of contemporary and classic performers, from electro to world music, jazz, indie rock, and reggae. Festival-goers can look forward to over 350 events ranging from bands, DJs, films, open discussions, workshops, theatre, poetry, and art installations.
