In this report, you will find a summary of each session of the 11th GO Group workshop on sustainable festival production in Roskilde, Denmark. Even if you couldn’t be there, feel free to read the report to find ideas to make your festival more sustainable.
Roskilde Festival Group greatly supported YOUROPE in organizing this workshop, which welcomed 46 participants from 14 countries at Roskilde Festival Højskole in Roskilde’s Musicon District.
Topics that were covered include:
- How music and music festivals can drive positive change in people and society
- How Roskilde Festival’s Flokkr Lab involves young people in festival creation and change making
- Roskilde Festival’s Circular Lab, which features sustainable solutions created by young people
- Sustainability in international touring and stage production
- Case study: Tailored reduction strategies by Hope Solutions (e.g., Coldplay and Glastonbury Festival)
- Case study: Tackling ticketing & fan travel with The Changency
- Input from a festival production perspective with Way out West and Provinssi
