The German Federal Ministry for the Environment has published a “Guide for the sustainable organisation of events” and updated it several times. It is aimed at event organisers from various sectors, e.g. politics, sport and culture. It recommends measures in the areas of mobility, event location and accommodation, energy and climate, temporary structures and exhibition stands, procurement of products and services, catering, waste management, water management, gifts and giveaways, organisation, communication and evaluation as well as accessibility and gender mainstreaming.

Das deutsche Bundesministerium für Umwelt hat einen “Leitfaden für die nachhaltige Organisation von Veranstaltungen” veröffentlicht und mehrfach aktualisiert. Er richtet sich an Veranstaltende verschiedener Bereiche, z. B. Politik, Sport und Kultur. Er empfiehlt Maßnahmen in den Bereichen Mobilität, Veranstaltungsort und Unterbringung, Energie und Klima, temporäre Bauten und Messestände, Beschaffung von Produkten und Dienstleistungen, Catering, Abfallmanagement, Umgang mit Wasser, Gastgeschenke und Give-aways, Organisation, Kommunikation und Evaluation sowie Barrierefreiheit und Gender-Mainstreaming.
