Roadmap: Super-Low Carbon Live Music

Based on data gathered during Massive Attack touring, the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research published a “Super-Low Carbon Live Music: A roadmap for the UK live music sector to play its part in tackling the climate crisis.” In this roadmap, the researchers “outline a set of clearly defined and measurable targets that the live music sector could adopt to play a leading role in meeting the Paris Agreement on climate change.” It includes targets for energy use in buildings and outdoor events, travelling on the ground and in the air (for people and equipment) and audience travel.

It is free to use for everyone.

The Tyndall Centre is a specialist body that brings together scientists, engineers, economists, and social scientists to accelerate society’s transition to a sustainable low carbon future and avert climate catastrophe. The Roadmap is not only based on data of Massive Attack’s tour, it was also commissioned by the band. Published in 2021.
