“Ticket to Ride”: Survey on Audience Travel publishes results
After almost a year and a lot of work, at the beginning of June 2024, The Changency published the complete results and findings from their joint project with Crowd Impact in co-operation with the German band AnnenMayKantereit. This document shows you ways in which mobility emissions at events can be significantly reduced and what is needed for a real mobility transition.
The project was supported by Landstreicher Booking and Fridays For Future and funded by Initiative Musik and the Beauftrage für Kultur und Medien Germany.
The methodology:
- At 10 concerts on AnnenMayKantereit’s 2023 summer tour with 215,000 visitors, they implemented a communication and action campaign to motivate the audience to travel to the concerts in a way that produces fewer greenhouse gases and is therefore more sustainable.
- At the concerts, they used the Crowd Impact survey app and an additional survey to record the audience’s journey and its emissions – they surveyed almost 5,000 fans.
- At a round table in March 2024, they discussed the findings from the project with decision-makers from the music and event industry, transport, politics and science. Among others, BDKV, Deutsche Bahn, FC St. Pauli, Eventim participated in the talks.
