Description
CODRU Festival is a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and community spirit, hosted annually in the lush and inviting setting of Pădurea Verde, a rejuvenated natural space located in Timișoara, Romania. Emerging from humble beginnings as a local gathering, CODRU has rapidly evolved into the largest regional entertainment phenomenon, attracting over 90,000 enthusiastic visitors in recent editions.
What sets CODRU apart is its powerful ethos, encapsulated in the theme “One Heart.” In a world filled with challenges, the festival emphasizes unity and togetherness as our greatest strengths. With a diverse line-up of over 100 artists spread across five distinctive stages – Sub Soare, Sub Codru, Lumea Nouă, Luminiș, and Sub Nori—the festival offers an eclectic mix of musical genres and unforgettable performances suitable for all age groups.
CODRU is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. A tree is planted for every ticket sold. The festival actively promotes waste reduction with reusable cups and welcomes pets, fostering an inclusive and eco-conscious atmosphere.
Beyond music and entertainment, CODRU Festival champions arts, culture, education, and community engagement throughout the year. Notable initiatives include the annual “Blood Rhythm Campaign,” where festival-goers donate blood in exchange for festival passes, and a dedicated children’s day that combines education with nature-inspired activities.
International recognition has placed CODRU among Europe’s top medium-sized festivals, with consecutive nominations at the European Festival Awards in 2022 and 2023. With a robust online presence reaching millions, CODRU Festival remains an influential and ever-evolving cultural event, continuously building bridges within local and international communities.
Genre & Program
CODRU Festival presents a diverse musical program featuring genres such as Pop, Rock, Indie, Electronic music – including EDM, Techno, House, and Drum & Bass – as well as Reggae, Hip-Hop, and World music.
Beyond music, the festival emphasizes a rich non-musical experience, offering culinary delights through food trucks and gourmet zones, captivating visual arts installations and exhibitions, interactive educational workshops, sustainability initiatives, engaging activities specifically designed for children, meaningful community engagement programs, and wellness areas dedicated to relaxation and rejuvenation.
