Description

Jazz, blues, swing, soul and more in front of the beautiful backdrop of Hamburg – this is what attracts thousands of visitors from near and far to the Port of Hamburg for ELBJAZZ in July. For two summer days, the Hanseatic city is all about jazz music. Several stages on the Blohm + Voss shipyard grounds offer the concentrated diversity of jazz and its various styles.

Today, ELBJAZZ is one of the largest and most popular jazz festivals in the country and even in Europe. It appeals to die-hard jazz connoisseurs as well as open-minded music lovers who have had little exposure to this genre and may otherwise prefer pop, hip-hop, rock or electronic music. ELBJAZZ features acts that are firmly rooted in jazz as well as those that are more loosely connected to it. This offers plenty of variety and exciting listening experiences!

The maritime ambience of the Port of Hamburg exudes an irresistible charm and adds the finishing touch to the two-day festival. The main stage on the Blohm + Voss site is surrounded by shipping containers and cranes. When the seagulls are circling, the sun is shining or the harbor lights are already illuminating the summer evening and traditional or innovative jazz sounds are coming from the stage, it’s pure magic – Hamburg style.

For passionate jazz lovers and curious music enthusiasts alike, for Hamburg residents and tourists, ELBJAZZ is always one of the highlights of the year. And anyone who has been there once will understand why – and keep coming back.
