Description
Kesärauha is one of Finland’s most important music festivals, and the second-largest alternative music event after Flow Festival. Kesärauha means “Summer Peace” in English. Held in the heart of Turku, Kesärauha is known for its carefully curated line-up of indie, alternative, and experimental artists, as well as its unique riverside setting by Turku Castle.
What truly sets Kesärauha apart is its strong set of values: sustainability, equality, anti-discrimination, protection of the Baltic Sea, and support for local culture. These values shape the entire festival experience — from eco-friendly practices to creating a safe and inclusive space for all. More than just a festival, Kesärauha is a celebration of music, community, and conscious living.
Genre & Program
Kesärauha consists of a combination of multiple genres of Indie and Alternative music, both internationally and domestically. It can be Indie Pop, Hardcore Punk, Techno, Rap, Rock, Folk, or World music – it can be mainstream but has somehow found its way into an Indie kind of aesthetic. Kesärauha’s food policy is vegan-friendly, and there’s no red meat or chicken on the menu. The biggest hidden gem of Kesärauha is the Elektrolinna stage, which is located in the inner yard of the old medieval Turku Castle. Elektrolinna means “Electronic Castle,” and it’s a very unique and beloved dance floor.
