Report: GO Group Workshop 2023
GO Group is an independent, pan-European, cross-industry think-tank with the goal to inspire people in the music festival and events industry to run their operations greener, smarter and more sustainable. Each year, GO Group invites those interested in green topics to gather somewhere in Europe for a two-day workshop. In 2023, the destination was Barcelona.
Topics included the sustainability tools developed by the European projects Future Festival Tools and FUSION, YOUROPE’s European Green Festival Roadmap, the carbon footprint of beer, FMA’s new guide to circular festivals, the case studies of Primavera Sound and Rototom Sunsplash, Fluctuations (a festival traveling on rivers), measuring the social and economic impact of events, and the role AI could come to play in environmental protection. Participants also had quite some fun in a 3D mapping workshop to develop the perfect festival site.
This report was written so that even those who did not attend can read up on the most important results and findings, so that they can use them to run their festival operation greener. The document also includes links to almost all presentations and resources from the workshop.
